All incoming second graders are invited to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of Holy Communion!
(We also enthusiastically welcome any children in a higher grade who would like to receive these Sacraments; a different preparation may be required from what is listed below. Please contact the Church Office for more info).

In order to receive these two sacraments, registration* is required + attendance of preparation classes at ONE of the following:
Family Faith Formation** (formerly CCD) - or - Catholic School (SMA or another Catholic School in the Archdiocese of New Orleans).

*SMA Students turn registration forms into teachers, Other students, turn registration forms into Church Office
**Those attending Family Faith Formation will also be given take-home materials and will need to attend two mini-retreat mornings.

First Reconciliation: Date Varies

First Communion Dates:

April 12, 2025: First Communion for SMA School Students

May 10, 2025: First Communion for SMA Parish Students (Homeschool, Public School, Christian School)
